The reason why Grand Theft Auto resonates with people on such a global scale is because it's a satirical look at how society is rigged against people who come from poor/low-income backgrounds. No matter if you're a man or woman, no matter what race or creed, if you grow up in a bad environment with parents/people who are struggling economically, your life will be that much harder than someone who is fortunate enough to grow up with even a middle-class background.
